Thus the authors of the browser hijacker can collect the search terms of your queries, and redirect you to annoying web-sites. As mentioned above, the browser hijacker infection can modify the default search provider on an unknown site, so all your search queries will be rerouted to an unwanted webpage. Of course you may setup your homepage again, but next time you launch a web browser you will see that the Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage return. When your personal computer is infected with “Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage” hijacker, every time you run your internet browser you may see this page. So for now, I'm going to try adding both compatibility view, AND adding our website as a trusted security zone and pushing that policy out.The appearance of “Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage” in your web browser could mean that your Internet Explorer has become the victim of unwanted software from the browser hijacker family, that alters settings of all your typical internet browsers by modifying the homepage, newtab page and default search provider. Obviously the menu bar is more important. So at the moment, we can either have the ability to edit links properly, OR, view the menu bar. I enabled the site as a trusted site in Internet Explorer, and the menu appears again.

The only way I've ever seen it gone before is if I'm running Internet Explorer with Enhanced Security Configuration enabled, I saw this when I was attempting to view it from a Windows Server 2003 box outside our network.

Fantastic! But patibility view kills the top navigation bar! It's completely gone. I try editing, and sure enough, I can edit on a client computer in the building and add more than one link. Successfully deployed the policy, and the website appears in compatibility view. I tried deploying a group policy in our network to enable compatibility view for just that website. If you have a look at that site, you'll notice a top menu bar with dropdown menus, looks very similar to the DHTML menu bars you can build. Long story short we need IE 8 for business that unfortunately the firefox ADM's for group policy aren't quite up to par with.sorry I'll stop blabbing on.

The website guys just keep saying "install firefox" but that presents a security hole in the network for various reasons and students being able to install plugins etc. I haven't done any work building the site, I just manage our network. First off, the site in question is so you can all see it. How can I go about voting? I'm looking at the tracker right now but can't see a specific vote button.Īlso! A new development to keep you all in the loop. Message: 'length' is null or not an object User Agent: Mozilla/4.0 (compatible MSIE 8.0 Windows NT 5.1 Trident/4.0. I hope this is fixable as I'd hate to have to deploy a new browser to the entire school because one thing doesn't work. However, any link after, on any element or section of text, gives me the error below. I'm allowed to create one link from text or an element within the text editor. To test, I even posted this using IE and I tried making a link and the same thing happens. Upon highlighting the text she wants to link, and clicking the link button, instead of a popup coming up asking for link options, nothing happens and I notice a script error on the moodle site. The specific problem is the teacher will create a new HTML block on her library portion of the website, and just enter in a few lines that will be links to other websites. Internet Explorer is deployed throughout the school at the moment and is centrally managed for security, and works great for everything we do and is nice and fast. I have one teacher who is trying to edit links in the website, and Internet Explorer will not edit them.

I'm a Network Administrator at a high school and our district has recently switched every one of the district's school websites to Moodle.
